NEW HOMES AND NEIGHBOURHOODS
- A mix of house sizes and types to cater for all including those most in need and the next generation of Harlow residents who want the opportunity to stay and work in the area.
- Beautifully designed homes and neighbourhoods built around self-sufficient local centres.
- Appropriate levels of new social infrastructure and public services including schools and health services.
JOBS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
- The Garden Town vision will go hand-in-hand with plans for significant growth in and around Harlow and the wider London-Stansted-Cambridge Innovation Corridor.
- Growth and investment are being spearheaded by the Harlow Enterprise Zone, relocation of Public Health England to Harlow and the growth of Stansted Airport- Garden Town infrastructure and housing will be geared around this to ensure it is enhanced as a destination to both live and work.

- Green ‘wedges’ between communities will be maintained and rural in character to help ensure individual identities for new and existing communities and villages.
- Development will respond sensitively to existing landmarks and views out of and across the Garden Town, framing and enhancing these.
GENUINE ALTERNATIVES TO CAR TRAVEL
- With a goal of 50% of journeys originating in the Garden Town to be made by public transport, cycling or walking, this will mean a radically enhanced transport network.
- New transport routes that will provide genuine alternatives to car travel within the Garden Town and help to tackle congestion.
- New and improved crossings across the River Stort to link new communities to Harlow and provide better access for Harlow residents to the Stort Valley.
